Village Within

Digital support for parents

Every parent deserves a village.

A calm, private place for the days that are too full and the nights that are too quiet. A daily moment for yourself, a journal only you can read, an AI companion to talk to, and other parents who understand.

The Village Within home screen: a warm greeting, the Village Well half full, today's encouragement and the next thing in your day.

6-day streak

Well 2 of 4 done

Amara

How are you landing today?

Why Village Within

Because no parent should have to carry everything alone.

Village Within was created to make support easier to find, life easier to manage, and space for you easier to protect. From practical resources and trusted support to community, organisation and moments of respite, Village Within brings the things parents need into one place.

Because parenting is part of who you are, but it is not all that you are.

Your village is here. And so are you.

How it helps

Everything in one gentle place.

A few minutes a day, whenever you can find them. Take what helps and leave the rest.

Your daily moment

The Village Well is a few minutes just for you: an encouragement, a thought to carry, a question to ask yourself, and one small thing to do. Keep a streak, earn points, and let it grow into a habit that is only yours.

  • Encouragement
  • Wisdom
  • A question for you
  • One small action

Someone to talk to, any hour

Amara is an AI companion who listens and helps you think things through. Chat with her, or talk and hear her answer out loud.

Meet Amara

Write it down. Keep it private.

Mood, wins, struggles and gratitude, in your own words. Other members cannot see it, and our team cannot open it.

Lay out the people who help you, from emotional support to practical help and growth. See where your village is strong and where it could use a hand.

Small steps, gently guided

A growth plan shaped by what you tell us, five-minute self-care practices, and a breathing space for when it all gets too much.

Parents who get it

Village Square is a moderated community with spaces for every kind of parenting journey. Share a win, ask a question, or just read along.

Guides for real life

Practical guides, masterclasses and wellness decks for every age and stage, from the first months to the teenage years and beyond.

The Hub: guides grouped by your child's age.

Make the numbers calmer

A budget builder, a debt plan and savings goals. They are calculators: we never hold or move your money.

Everyday support

The practical side of parenting, made lighter.

Alongside the daily moment, the journal and the community, your membership includes three tools for the things that fill a parent's head: what is happening this week, when you will ever get to rest, and who to ask for help.

Village Organiser

Your whole week, in one calm place.

School runs, appointments, birthdays and the hundred small things that live in your head. Put them in the Organiser and see what is next, without juggling five different apps.

  • Events, tasks and reminders

For you and for each of your children, with a gentle heads-up before anything that matters, and an evening look at tomorrow.

  • Routines that hold the day together

Build a school morning or a bedtime once, choose the days, and each step reminds you at its time.

  • Countdowns for the big dates

Birthdays, holidays and deadlines, with a checklist so you can see how ready you are, not only how close it is.

  • Clear my head

Type everything on your mind and it is sorted into a list. You choose what to keep, and nothing is saved until you do.

The Village Organiser day view: swimming gala at 10:00, a permission slip to send back, a prescription to collect and parents evening.
Countdowns in the Organiser: half term in nine days, and a birthday party in twelve days with a checklist that is two of five ready.

Village Respite

A break you can actually take.

Rest rarely arrives on its own. Tell Respite how much time you have, who is with you and what you can spend, and it suggests something small and kind that fits.

  • From fifteen minutes to a whole day

Choose your time, whether it is just you or you and your child, and what you can spend. Amounts are shown in your own currency.

  • Ideas and ready-made breaks

Free ideas for ten quiet minutes, or a planned few hours. Start one with a step-by-step timer, ask for a whole afternoon to be planned, or add it to your Organiser so it really happens.

  • Real places near you

Parks, libraries, cafés, museums and playgrounds in your town. We prepare them for you within a few hours, and tell you honestly if there are not enough listed yet.

Village Help Desk

Find the right door, without the hunt.

When you need help but do not know who to ask, choose what it is about, or describe it in your own words. You get a short, calm guide with steps, services to start with and what to have ready.

  • Thirteen doors, one simple start

Finances, childcare, housing, health, legal matters, food and more, with a few quick questions about who it is for and how soon.

  • Official pages, not guesswork

Links go only to government and recognised sites, checked against a list we keep. Guides never include phone numbers, because the service's own page has the current one.

  • Safety comes first

If what you describe sounds urgent, the emergency numbers for your country appear before anything else.

  • Save the steps to your Organiser

Turn a guide into a checklist with a reminder to follow up, so it does not slip away.

A conversation with Amara. A parent says bedtime was hard, and Amara answers kindly and asks what would help most.

Meet Amara

Someone to talk to when the house is quiet.

Amara is an AI companion. She listens, reflects back what she hears, and helps you think things through, at 2am, in the car park, or in the ten minutes before pick-up. Chat with her, or talk and hear her answer out loud.

  • She asks before she says anything. Your words only go to our AI provider after you say yes, and you can switch it off at any time.
  • She is an AI, not a person and not a therapist. She does not diagnose or give medical advice.
  • Clear the conversation whenever you like.

If you are in danger, or thinking about harming yourself, please call 999 (112 also works), or contact Samaritans on 116 123 (free, any time).

Privacy

Your village is private.

People share real things here. So the village is built in a way that everyone's privacy is protected. You are in charge of what is seen, what is shared, and what is kept.

Your journal is yours

Other members cannot read it. Neither can our team's admin tools.

AI only if you say yes

Anything that sends your words to an AI asks permission first and shows you exactly what is sent. You can change your mind in Profile.

Ask for your data

Want a copy of everything we hold about you? Email us and we will send it to you.

Leave whenever you like

Delete your account in the app and your personal data goes with it. Your posts stay, anonymised.

Questions

Good things to ask.

Who is Village Within for?

Parents and caregivers aged 18 and over, whatever your family looks like: single mothers and fathers, co-parents, parents who are newly separated or widowed, and parents of children with additional needs. If you want somewhere calm to turn, you are who we built it for.

Is this therapy?

No. Village Within is a place for support, reflection and community. It is not a medical or clinical service, and it cannot replace a doctor, a counsellor or emergency help. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number or a crisis helpline. The numbers for your country are on this page and on our Support page.

Is Amara a real person?

No. Amara is an AI companion, and the app says so. She is not a therapist and does not give medical, legal or financial advice.

What are the Organiser, Respite and Help Desk?

Three tools that come with your membership. The Organiser keeps your family's events, tasks, routines and countdowns in one place. Respite suggests a break that fits the time, company and money you have, and lists real places near you. The Help Desk helps you find the right official help, with a short guide and links to trusted pages. You will find all three on the Home screen, and each one is explained above.

See the three tools

Can I trust what the Help Desk tells me?

It is a guide to finding the right door, not advice. An AI writes each guide, and only after you allow it. It reads official pages, and every link in a guide is checked against a list of government and recognised sites before you see it. Guides never include phone numbers, because the service's own page has the current one. Please check the details with the service before you rely on them, and if you are in danger, use the emergency numbers on this page.

Where do the places in Respite come from?

From open place data for public spaces such as parks, libraries, cafés, museums and playgrounds. When you tell us your town, we prepare its places within a few hours, so a brand new town is ready the same day. If a town does not have enough places listed yet, the app says so plainly and shows the nearest town that does. If you find one that is closed or wrong, report it in the app, and once two members agree it comes down. Please check opening times before you go.

Who can read my journal?

Only you. Other members cannot see it, and our admin tools cannot open it. One thing to know: if you turn on Amara, she is given your name and your three most recent journal entries so she can reply to you personally. That only happens after you have said yes, and you can switch it off at any time in Profile, under AI and your data.

What gets sent to an AI?

Only if you allow it. That means what you write to Amara and the last few messages of your chat, your name, and your three most recent journal entries. If you tap Listen, the words of her reply are sent to make the voice. If you use "Clear my head" in the Organiser, the note you type is sent to be sorted into a list. If you use the Help Desk, what you choose and write, and the town and country on your profile, are sent so a guide can be written. If you say no, none of it is sent, and the rest of the app works as normal.

What does it cost?

£11.99 a month, or £129.99 a year. That includes everything: Amara, the Daily Well, your journal, My Village, Village Square, the Hub, growth and self-care, the money tools, and the Organiser, Respite and Help Desk. Prices in the App Store and Google Play are set for each country and may differ.

How do I cancel?

If you subscribed on the web, open the app, go to Profile and then Membership. If you subscribed on iPhone or Android, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Which devices can I use it on?

Any modern web browser at app.village-within.org, the Android app from Google Play.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app, go to Profile and choose Delete Account. Your journal, Amara conversations and personal details are deleted. Your community posts stay so other people's replies still make sense, but they are made anonymous. You can also email us. The full details are on our data deletion page.
